Innovia Films launches the first carbon-neutral BOPP film for labels . It is carbon neutral on a mass balance and on a 'cradle to gate' basis, as certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Scheme (ISCC Plus). The carbon footprint is the sum of CO2 greenhouse gas emissions generated during the life cycle of a product. This new film, called Encore C45cn, will contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and the use of fossil resources. Stephen Weber, Key Account Director, Labels, at Innovia Films, explains: “ As well as being carbon neutral, Encore C45cn is a 45um MD high rigidity BOPP bubble film, to deliver good automatic label dispensing performance. “This could facilitate the replacement of standard 50 um films, giving an additional 10% material savings.
