Hi, In his documentary "The Story of India", (a BBC production) Michael Woods tried to show a link between Kamsa and Kanishka. Kanishka was a ruler who ruled with Mathura as its capital. Although this is quite controversial and ungrounded. Mahabharata even though exists as a legend is nowhere near the period of Kanishka. Kanishka was a Buddhist and according to Hinduism, Buddha was born after Krishna. Now the arguments include the similar sounding names, around the same city of Mathura. Kanishka was not a fan of Brahminical Hinduism and was a Buddhist. I am not sure though how the above strand fills in with other details such as did Kanishka have a sister who gave birth to a child. Did he kill infants? Did he have a father in law from Magadha such as Jarasandha? etc. Can anyone who knows of this theory comment on this. Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. References: historum.com/asian-history/101393-kanishka-kamsa-mentioned-mahabharata.html Gadget Animation
